Woman in Rugby | Progetto Erasmus+ Sport

Among the activities planned in the WIR project, which was created to break down stereotypes related to the existence of male and female sports through the promotion of women's rugby, was the submission of a survey to female and non- female athletes, both Italian and Romanian, between the ages of 10 and 18.

The survey, which was sent to all clubs participating in the U17 and U15 women's activities, plus a sample of the U13s, and circulated among some schools, collected 385 responses from Italian girls and boys, which are being analysed. The foreign partners are, on the other hand, dealing with data from Romanian athletes and non-athletes.

The survey, which was sent to all clubs participating in the U17 and U15 women's activities, plus a sample of the U13s, and circulated among some schools, collected 385 responses from Italian girls, which are being analysed. The foreign partners are, on the other hand, dealing with data from Romanian athletes and non-athletes.

The survey, divided into four questionnaires, was carried out by sports psychologist Flavia Sferragatta, with the coordination of the Women's Activity Coordinator, Cristina Tonna, and FIR's Social Responsibility sector. The survey, subdministered anonymously through an online link, remained open for about a month.

The survey is dedicated to the orientation and knowledge of rugby in girls. The research is intended to be a first step towards the development of a targeted and more attractive proposal for the female gender and to realise a communication campaign that can reach and impact as many girls as possible.

The survey involved 4 groups of Italian girls

- 10-13 years old who play rugby

- 10-13 years old who do not play rugby

- 14-18 years old who play rugby

- 14-18 years old who do not play rugby

The first question was addressed to all groups and based on the answer given, one was directed to the relevant questionnaire. The questionnaires aimed at those who play rugby consisted of 18 questions; those aimed at those who do not play rugby consisted of 19 questions.

The survey with all the questions can be viewed and downloaded in the Documents section.
